Mehr als ein Drittel waren die Markenangebote nicht bekannt und 42 Prozent halten die Aktivitäten lediglich für einen kurzweiligen Trend ohne ein dauerhaftes Engagement der Unternehmen. Lediglich 7% sehen einen positiven Einfluss auf das Image der Marken und ihr zukünftiges Kaufverhalten."

"politik.de präsentiert am Dienstag, den 20.03.2007, um 18 Uhr mit einer prominent besetzten Diskussionsrunde zum Thema „Web 3D – Neue Chancen für die politische Kommunikation?“ eine neue Veranstaltungsreihe im Politik-Land in Second Life.

Im neu geschaffenen Politik-Pavillon diskutieren in Echtzeit die Bundesgeschäftsführerin der Grünen Steffi Lemke, der Vorsitzende des Bundestagsausschusses für Kultur und Medien Hans-Joachim Otto (FDP), der Journalist Dr. Christian Stöcker von Spiegel Online, bekannt auch als Second-Life-Berichterstatter „Sponto“, sowie Christan Hochhuth, Gründer der Initiative iDemokratie und Projektleiter von politik.de. Moderiert wird die Diskussionsrunde durch die Journalistin Dr. Anne Haeming.

Die virtuelle Podiumsdiskussion bildet die Auftaktveranstaltung der Reihe „Politischer Webdienstag“ in Second Life. Unter diesem Namen werden künftig regelmäßig Politiker zum politischen Meinungsaustausch im Politik-Land von politik.de zusammentreffen. (..)

Warum sind wir überhaupt da raus ins Internet? Was wollten wir auf dem Mond? Machen wir uns lächerlich und sollten besser die neue Folge von "24" gucken oder jetzt schon Weihnachtsgeschenke für die Freundin basteln? Wohin mit der Zeit, die am Ende verbleibt?

Es ist still in Chilbo, dieser friedlichen Vorzeige-Community auf einem der veralteten Server der Scheinwelt "Second Life". Der Angriff der Werbe-Pyramiden ist abgewehrt. Am Donnerstag um Mitternacht MEZ versammeln sich alle Nachbarn im Chilbo Community Center und beratschlagen die anstehenden Projekte im virtuellen Kiez. Die digitale Heimat nimmt Gestalt an.

SL-Inworld: Das vierte Album der Elektro-Band Air heißt „Pocket Symphony“ für das Inworld ein eigener „Listening Room“ gebaut wurde. Dieser besteht aus einem überdimensional-hohen schwarzen Quader ohne Eingang. Hier kann man sich die 12 neuen Tracks, das Video der ersten Single „Once Upon a Time“ und eine kurze Dokumentation über die Arbeit an „Pocket Symphony“ ansehen und -hören.

An immersive collaborative audiovisual environment for Second Life.

Using many of the possibilities unique to the Second Life medium, A Rose Heard At Dusk is a participatory artwork that turns visitors into performers.

It was designed specifically for the cavern space under the Opera House on Big Pond Island. The work is designed to be "played" by visitors avatars.

Walking, flying and jumping through the space, avatars create a unique audiovisual composition, different every time. Colours and sounds combine to create a spatially immersive musical and visual experience.

The work can be played by single avatars, but it really comes alive when friends play it together.

It blends the different meanings of "play". By playing in the space, visitors are actually playing the space like an audiovisual instrument, creating endless variations of sound and vision.

It looks different at different times of day, the light reacting differently with all of the translucent colours. It sounds different from different positions - all sounds are attached to shapes in the space, so some sounds stay still while others move. Combined with the movements of visitors avatars, this creates an endlessly changing immersive audiovisual experience."

SLNN: "The Shelter in Swinside, which is the sister sim of the ever popular Shelter in Isabel has suffered an Art Attack. The Art Attack is a rotating display of paintings featuring a number of Second Life's more prominent artists."

The Guardian "Italians seeking respite in cyberspace from the surreal world of Italian politics are fighting plans by a minister to build a campaign headquarters in the virtual reality community Second Life.

Around 60,000 Italians frequent the online universe. But "avatars" gathered at the weekend on a tropical island, above, bought by Antonio Di Pietro, Italy's transport and infrastructure minister, to protest at his plans to set up office space there. Writing on his online blog, Mr Di Pietro, who has planted his flag on the island, said he wanted to promote "political, social and economic" debate in Second Life."
